TeacherTube - What it Will Cost You to Not Be Technology Savvy
This TeacherTube video is a very powerful display of why we as teachers need to start Spider-Man movie technology into our teaching. It is such a simple, yet effective screen shot of PowerPoint slides co-ordinate with dramatic music that is meant to make us feel uncomfortable while watching it. The underlying message of the video makes us realize that if we Spider-Man model not get out of our comfort zone and start getting educated with the many applications of technology, and then teach these applications to our students, that they will fall behind in the global economy.

China is also in the running to become the top English Hopalong Cassidy country in the entire world. Should this scare us? The answer is yes. We need to get moving if we want to have a competitive edge.
The video points out that jobs are becoming evermore unstable in North America, and with opportunities to ship these jobs to China, we should be worried that if we do not keep up to speed on the technological end, we might lose out. Learning about how far behind we are from a video on TeacherTube is the first step in making progress. Now that we know where we stand, let's get educated, and get into action.
It is interesting to note that the top ten jobs in 2010 did not exist in the early 2000s (as quoted by TeacherTube)...why? Because of the impact that technology has had on our global marketplace. This should automatically make us question why we sometimes use handouts that were created twenty years ago. If we want our students to keep up, we need to keep up.
With the US government spending less than half the money that Nintendo did on promoting research of technology in education, it is no wonder that we might be falling behind. As a teacher learning and growing in these changing times, it is so important that we stay connected to sites like Teachertube, and any other training we can get our hands on, so we can be part of the shift towards a technological world.
