Fear, in Networking

There was a young man. He started a new business. And he planned homeowners insurance go to a network evening. His pits peach was ready. He new how to get the attention of people He knew exactly the do's and don'ts of networking. At the meeting he walked around and talked with some old friends. And he was looking for fresh blood. But he postponed. He thought: "Just a few minutes and then I will talk to that guy. Now is not the right time. After a few minutes the man was gone and the young man found a small group of people he intended to get in touch with. But they were so involved in their talking that he thought it was better not to interfere. At the end of the evening he didn't have any new contact at all.

What went wrong? It was fear that kept the man from making contact with new people. In this case he had prepared himself. When someone doesn't prepare, the fear can be even bigger.
He forgot to take care for his fear. He planned tot go straight through his fear, which can be good. But he didn't succeed.

Maybe this story sounds familiar to you. Maybe Maryland Lemon Laws visited a network meeting lately with no results. Or maybe you don't show up at al any more.

But if you want to try again:
What should be done next time?

1. Visualize the situation a few times. Watch yourself walking up to strangers and see yourself talking and laughing. Create a happy feeling with it and hear the talking of others around you and smell the surroundings. And be sure to feel good. If you really do this a few times before the network meeting, including your other preparations, there is a big change that you will succeed. Because now you have been in this situation before and you felt good about it.

2. The second thing you can do is make affirmations about networking like: I love networking, I am happy to meet new people, I am happy to talk to new people and so on. Say those affirmations loudly to yourself every day at the week before the meeting.

So now you know how you should act in the future to succeed on networking without fear.
